WALSAIP Acoustic Sensor Grid for Environmental Surveillance Monitoring (Fall 07-present date)

This system is composed of nodes. Acoustic signals are collected and processed by sensor nodes (Gumstix). The processed data and associated metadata are sent to the principal node, the master sensor node (MSN). The MSN stores this information in a database, which can then be transferred to a server that can be accessed by interested parties over networks.

CAHSI Conference Presentation (December 14-17, 2008)

Imaging radar systems research work poster presentation for Convention of Associtaed Hispanic Support Institution held in Miami, Florida.

Lockheed Martin Technical Meeting and Poster Presentation(September 28th 2007)

Presented research poster at Phoenix, Arizona, based on the recent work accomplished in developing digital signal
processing applications on the DSP TMS320C6713 board.

Lockheed Martin Technical Meeting and Poster Presentation(May, 2007)

Participated in the poster session, presented to Lockheed Martin representatives, visiting us from Phoenix, Arizona. Poster was   based on research on using DSP TMS320C6713 board, to digital signal processing applications

PRISM (Spring 2007)

Participated in this activity March 10th, 2007, where my team members and I presented our project WIMS Cochlear
Implant. This activity was held in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

WIMS Cochlear Implant (Fall 2006, and Spring 2007)

The purpose of this research was to develop low power consuming software for the chip used to provide hearing capabilities for WIMS (Wireless Integration Microsystems) cochlear implants. I was in charge, in Fall 2006, of implementing an interface between the 8051 microcontroller and Lab VIEW, through the UART. Then I worked as leader in this project, during Spring 2007. Our main objective was to fully integrate all of the parts of this project, and migrate from 8051 to ATMEL microcontroller. In May 2007, I presented this project at the University of Michigan.

Development of Simulator and Hardware Implementation of a RISC Processor
       (Spring 2006)

Worked on the software and hardware development of the instruction set. Software implementation was done using JAVA on Eclipse, and the hardware development was done using Logic Works.

Design of Automated Greenhouse using Embedded Systems (Fall 2005)

Implemented using processor HC11 in assembly language. Worked on the software interface of the system; in hardware area, worked with light sensing and current amplifying circuits.
